The most feared moment for the contestants is the eviction. This is the moment where contestants loose courage, because their faith lies in the hands of the viewers who have the final say and sometimes vote wrongly. Another eviction comes up this week and two of the eight housemates must leave the house. Who will they be? Picture above shows the eight contestants L-R: Onochie, Nagite, Adum, Peterside, Njoku, Giami, Ekpo and Chinwo, two must leave this week.

Eight contestants are left in this year`s Idol competition sponsored by etisalat Nigeria. The contestants are, Diwari Peterside, Honey Adum, Lynda Giami, Stephen Onochie, Najite El-David, Joe Anthony Ekpo and Mercy Chinwo. The eight contestants left the foreign scene for the local as they sang songs written and sang by Nigerians. This excited one of the Judges (Charles Oputa a.k.a Charly Boy) as he queried why it took this time for the contestants to sing local songs. The first contestant of the show was Diwari Peterside, a lawyer turned musician, who sang Onyeka Owenu`s“ YOU AND I”, Honey Adum followed as he sang Mike Okri`s “OMOGE”, Lynda Giami sang late Christy Essien Igbbokwe`s “SEUN RERE”, Orlando Owo`s “ IYAWO ASIKO” was sang by Stephen Onochie, Najite El-David sang “WAIT FOR ME” by Sunny Ade and Onyeka Owenu, Nneka Njoku sang “OLOMI” by Tosin Martins, Joe Anthony Ekpo sang Felix Liberty`s IFEOMA and Mercy Chinwo sang late Bobby Benson`s “TAXI DRIVER” in the Mandy Ojugbana`s version. The eight contestants no doubt gave their best as they thrilled the audience. But these two contestants namely Ekpo and Onochie stood out that they got both the audience and the judges applauding for minutes as they repeatedly shouted their names. Nevertheless, two out of these eight talents will have to be evicted next week. Who will they be? The viewers (Voters) have the final say.Picture above shows Diwari singing “YOU AND I” by Onyeka Owenu

NIGERIAN IDOL SEASON 2: CHINEDU AND SLY 1 EVICTED

Two top contestants at the Nigerian Idol music reality show, namely Chinedu Ugwuadu and Sylvester Kiskin were evicted from the contest on February 23, 2012. The duo were actually strong contenders for the crown, but music experts believe that the choice of Whitney Houston`s song that both of them chose to sing made them perform below evpectation. Their arguments was that Whitney is a women and a female voice is challenging for men. They ought to have chosen one of Whitney`s songs that is not too challenging for men.Nevertheless, they rated both evictees high. Above is Chinedu Ugwuadu, the youngest contestant whom the viewers (voters) evicted with their votes from the house

Two contestants out of the top twelve left in etisalat sponsored Nigerian Idol, were booted out of the competition on February 16,2012.The two contests are Ibinabo Romeo, a Nigerian based in Gambia and Ayo Ayolola based in lagos. The announcement of Ayo`s eviction never meant anything to the Judges and audience until he was given the microphone to sing his final song before leaving the house. Ayo grabbed the microphone and sang James Blunt`s, (YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL). This thrilled fellow contestants that they traded their emotions with tears. The audience present in the studio screened at his beautiful performance that they kept shouting Ayo, Ayo, we love you. The most emotional aspect of the show was when the father himself, one of the Judges of Nigerian Idol and a music icon, Charly Boy broke into tears as Ayo kept singing the song you are beautiful. Some of the spectators present did not agree with the choices of the audience, as they believed, that the two who were evicted should have stayed. LIFE IS A RACE:PASTOR ENOCH ADEJARE ADEBOYE

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God on February 5, 2012, prayed for sportsmen and women in Nigeria at the Church`s international headquarters in Ebute metta Lagos Nigeria. The Title of his message, is that Life is a race. He made it clear to sports people present that they should not mind those who say what matters most is participation and that winning is not the ultimate. Pastor Adeboye then said, if winning is not the ultimate, like some people claim, then why are prices not given to failures. If anybody should come first, why not you he asked. Those who come first are human beings ain`t they he asked again. He urged sportsmen and women to be disciplined for that`s one of the keys to success. Taking it io the spiritual realm, only those who live for Christ on earth have won the race and the price attached to the victory is that, they will make the Kingdom of God. LIFE IS A RACE. Above is the picture of the General Overseer of the Redeemed, Pastor Enoch Adeboye preaching the word of God to God`s people at The RCCG headquarters in Ebute Metta Lagos Nigeria.
