MAYHEM IN ONITSHA

Ibrahim Hila from Madana in Niger state  and Jafar 22, an onion seller from Gausu local government area in Zamfara state were victims of the mayhem between the Ibos and the Hausas which happened recently in Onitsha, Anambra state. An eye withness account says that trouble started when a Hausa mobile police shot and killed an Ibo bus driver and one other person at New market road in Onitsha. This spat off violence among the Ibos against the Hausas. Ibrahim and Jafar were among the victims of the violence. Matchet cuts were inflicted on Jafar whose little finger(left hand) was almost chopped off. Photo above shows Ibrahim Hila, who narrowly missed death. Photos and text by Anthony ADIGWU
